I am totally delighted to be included in the newest issue of Nobrow, #9. This issue is really stunning and features some of my favorite working illustrators! The theme is “It’s oh so quiet,” and I interpreted this through a series of portraits of curious quiet characters. Go get one!

My latest illustration was created for the swell blog Brwn Paper Bag run by my pal, the very wonderful Sara Barnes! She is asking different illustrators to create a header for her blog with it’s namesake (a brown paper bag) as a jumping off point for inspiration.
I wanted to create a mysterious and narrative piece. I had been looking at a lot of vintage photos from the 40s and was really attracted to the fashions, colors, and styling.
I am very open to hearing your interpretations of what exactly is happening here!
